Some Tourist-y Photos from the East Side of Central Park, New York City, Near the Guggenheim and Metropolitan Museum of Art, from Late April in Springtime
Ah, Spring. Remember Spring? When you didn't get an instant sweat-stache from walking 40 ft down the sidewalk? I have a vague remembrance of a time when my knee-pits didn't drip from the humidity. It was very pretty back then, and temperate.
I was in New York City at the end of April and I took some time to read in Central Park, because what is better than reading a book in Central Park on a beautiful spring day? Especially a book about poets and artists who lived in Manhattan in the 1950s/60s. -- The book I always read when I go to NYC is "Digressions on Some Poems by Frank O'Hara."
It's a memoir by one of his best friends, Joe LeSeuer. You really get the sense of the times in his book and it makes me happy to be swept back there, while being in present day New York, so I bring it with me on my NYC trips.
