Reading in Cafes is More Productive Than Reading at Home
Why is it so much easier to go out and read at a cafe or pub instead of at home? I say it's because we have "productive distraction" in those places. Whereas at home we have chores, tasks, TV, Netflix. I prefer locally owned to chains but I hadn't checked out the Caffe Nero in my neighborhood, so I went there. It was very cosy. Like your rich gay uncle's tastefully decorated library. I got a vegetable biscuit and a cup of coffee. It was nice.
Apollinaire was a French poet associated most with Surrealism. The poems in Alcools are fittingly described. I love them. I love Surrealism.
