Mid-October Autumn Foliage Photos from The Forks, Maine - New England Fall at Its Finest!
This past weekend I headed back to the great State of Maine -- where I lived for ten years from 1996 to 2006 -- to visit my loved ones up there. We had a great time, as always. Here are some photos my friends Sadie took from our hike up
Mosquito Mountain in The Forks, Maine. My knees are hurting today from this way high up hike. But as you can see from the view, it was worth it.

Goin' Up to Camp - the Maine Cabin Off-the-Grid in the Woods
My friends have a very rustic cabin in the woods. This is called a "camp" up in Maine. The house is a small one with a loft up top and four mattresses on the floor. Downtairs is all one room with a full size bed, futon and big huge dining room table. It's heated by a wood stove. There's no running water. You pee in the woods. You poo, if you can't hold it in until you're back to regular life (like what I did, you're welcome for the TMI), in an outhouse. And there's no electricity, never mind such things as wifi or even data to text. It's very off-the-grid and really fun and novel as a result. There were three adults and 7 kids age 7 to 13. And most of the time they were great! even for tweenagers!
