What To Do In Springfield, IL: Eat at Charlie Parker's Diner on Historic Route 66

Though I did not eat chicken, but I totally ate some eggs in honor of the Birdman. My eggs were over medium, with home fries, rye toast and some grilled tomatoes. Yum!

This authentic old-school diner has been featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. More recently, in fact, the very morning we arrived there, they had won Thomas's English Muffin Hometown Breakfast Battle, for $25,000. A thousand each went to the 23 employees of the place! Exciting!

If you're ever traveling Route 66 and need a bite to eat, definitely check out Charlie Parker's Diner in Springfield, IL. If not for the decor alone, and the good old fashioned diner--with diner prices!
