Maya Lin - Boundaries

The 2nd graders learned about Maya Lin this week (as part of Asian-Pacific Heritage Month and Memorial Day observances) which made me think of this book I have, that I acquired as part of required reading for a seminar on creativity. So I picked it up to take a look, five years after I first purchased it, and to re-read.
"I create places in which to think, without dictating what to think," so it says on page "2:02" of the book. A striking quote that makes me think about how, or maybe if, a poem can have the same function.

"I do not believe anything I can create can compare to the beauty of the natural, but these works are a response to that beauty," on p. 2:07.

I love when other artists/ creators help me as a writer think about the creative work I do.
