The Basis for My Diet

Well, here we go. I'm basing my diet on Marissa Cloutier and Eve Adamson's book "The Mediterranean Diet". I've read this book and been trying to do some variation of it since I fist read it back in 2005.

Their pyramid is something like: daily exercise along with 8 servings of whole grains, 3 veg, 2 fruit, 2 legume, 2 low fat dairy daily. Weekly 2 servings fish, 1 poultry, 1 lean meat, lean pork & veal, 4 egg and then once a month if not ever high fat food. Coffee, water and tea are all neutral. You should have herbs, aromatic allium (garlic, shallots) and polyunsaturated fats like olive oil interspersed throughout your diet. Cloutier and Adamson are LAME about the FUN PART of the Mediterranean Diet and recommend no alcohol or limited alcohol.

Well, that sounds nice and whatnot but that's not what I can do.

So, I'm going on a variation. It's not doctor or nutritionist sanctioned. So, don't go trying this yourself because some blog talked about it. But I've tried to do something like this a lot and can never stick to it, simply because I don't keep track and it doesn't take into account how difficult dieting can be.

Stay tuned for the next post, which outlines my daily regimen.
