Music Time!!! (cont.) [pt. 6] Feist

Yes, like many of the rest of you all I heard the dulcet tones of Feist 1 2 3 4er-ing me during that captivating iPod commercial and was intrigued. After listening to live performances over YouTube (that's right, listening - while at work I go to YouTube, put in the song title I want to hear, let the video play in the background but have the benefit of the song while I work on what I'm supposed to be working on. Clever, iddenit?), I too was entranced y the sirenic songstress.

Here, then, her not-super-popular cover song, Secret Heart, the lyrics of which I find adorable. Though we can't credit her for them, that honor goes to Ron Sexsmith, I love her version of it anyway:

Secret heart
What are you made of
What are you so afraid of
Could it be
Three simple words
Or the fear of being overheard
What's wrong

Let em' in on your secret heart

Secret Heart
Why so mysterious
Why so sacred
Why so serious
Maybe you're
Just acting tough
Maybe you're just not man enough
What's wrong

Let em' in on your secret heart

This very secret
That you're trying to conceal
Is the very same one
That You're dying to reveal
Go tell him how you feel

Secret heart come out and share it
This loneliness, few can bear it
Could it have something to do with
Admitting that you just can't go through it alone?

Let em' in on your secret heart

This very secret
That you're trying to conceal
Is the very same one
That you're dying to reveal
Go tell him how you feel
This very secret heart

Go out and share it
This very secret heart
How cute is that? I wish someone would dedicate this song to me then declare their love. Who? Erm, I don't have anyone in mind. I just like the sentiment. Maybe Colin Firth, Ben Harper or that kid who played hockey at my school that I used to have an antagonistically flirtatious relationship with, the one who traveled the world upon graduating and who I lost touch with and who still pops in my head, like right now. =sigh= Oh well. Some one else maybe.
